11.3 Synthesis of Planetary Transit with Dasha

Part 1

11.3.1 If a planet is strong in the birth chart and also in transit, it will give exceedingly auspicious results of the house where it is transiting during its dasha, Antar-dasha or Pratyantar-dasha period. But if the planet is weak both in birth chart & transit, it will ruin the significations of the house and gives excessive misery, during its transit.

11.3.2 If a benefic planet is strong in birth chart and well placed during transit, gives excellent results. If the benefic planet is strong in birth chart, but weak during transit, its benevolence will be decreased.

11.3.3 If the lord of a malefic house, is weak or placed in a malefic house in birth/ Navamsha chart, but is in a benefic house during transit, its results will be somewhat modified. But if it is weak or placed in malefic/ inimical house during transit, it will give exceedingly malefic results.

11.3.4 When a planet is transiting a benefic place and is making degree-wise aspects with other benefic planets in birth chart, it will give highly benefic results.

11.3.5 When a planet enters the previous sign during retrograde motion, it continues to give the effect of its original sign as well. A transiting planet gives special/ important results, when it changes its motion from direct to retrograde and again from retrograde to direct. A planet in retrogression during transit generally denotes health problems. The good results of a functional benefic during retrogression, are delayed or put on hold; while the evil results of a functional malefic becomes more aggressively dangerous during retrogression.

11.3.6 During transit, when a planet is giving malefic results and if it receives Vedha (obstruction) from another planet, its malevolence gets destroyed and it starts giving good results.

11.3.7 The results of transit, to a large extent, depend on Ashtakvarga. When a planet is transiting a house, which has more points (4 or more) in its Bhinnashtak-varga (BAV) or 28 or more points in Sarvashtak-varga (SAV), it gives good results. The more the number of benefic points, the better will be the results.

11.3.8 During transit, Sun & Mars give their main effects from zero to 10 degree, Jupiter & Venus from 10 to 20 degrees, Moon & Saturn from 20 to 30 degrees, while Mercury & Nodes give their results throughout the sign (0 to 30).
