The Political Factor

Dr. Shanker Adawal (Jyotishaacharya, PHD, MBA)

1) In these series we shall be giving factors for becoming a political leader –a VIP and what are the yogas for becoming President, government, Prime Minister, Member of Parliament, Member of Legislative Assembly and so on. The Astro-analysis of some of the horoscopes of persons who rose to the heights shall be a guide for those who wish to lead the country and what pitfalls con be faced by them on account of planetary position at birth in transit with reference to a particular dasha (period) one may be undergoing. Remember, planets spare none irrespective of the position one may hold.

2) In astrology, time is one of the most important factors to be considered and applied and at times even a fraction of a second is enough to change the fate of a nation- including a bomb explosion, natural calamities including earthquakes or an accident – think of the latest earthquake in Turkey.

3) Right from the olden period, man's history is riddled with struggle, ambition to weald power i.e. political power and glory. All wars by the earlier kings were to maintain their political authority. It would be right to say that from times immemorial, is the most enviable asset. Even now, in the democracies, dynasty ruled is operating and all leaders wish their sons/members of the family to hold the reigns- though there is no end to political ambition as on account of human weakness, every body would like to retain the power once given and may not step down unless forced by the planets or circumstance beyond control.

4) Earlier the rulers were known as kings/Emperors/Queens. In the modern items, though the pattern of rulers has changed yet the inherent, functions and responsibilities remains the same. Further, it is mentioned that change is the law of nature and the present set-ups are under constant changes depending on the ruling and opposition parties in the modern form democracies. The duration of government (s) differ from country to country and in some countries, the President has more powers whereas in other countries Prime Minster is more powerful as compared to the President. Be that as it may, the combinations for political power and political leaser can be seen as collected from the principles as laid down in classical texts on astrology and also with reference to modern authors on the subject:

5) For becoming a political reader including that of the President/Prime Minster etc. we have many combinations and we will try to cover up many combinations and we will try to cover up many such combinations from time to time in these series. To start with we give below the following important combination for high political position (equal to that of a king).

a. House: Lagna, 1st, 4th, 5th, 9th and 10th houses.

b. The Sun, the Moon, Mars, Venus, Saturn and also Rahu.

For all such prediction, bear in mind that the horoscope (the zodiac) comprises of three groups: Movable, fixed and common signs. The movable group (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) believes in action and are active, they are energetic, enthusiastic and dominating in nature. Such persons are purposive in action and can be ranked 'dynamic'. Such person have been found to be capable of guiding and controlling the public (may have many followers)- they have the needed determination, courage and foresight. Among other, the father of the Nation- the learned and respect M. K. Gandhi has born under Libra Lagna and among the present leaders Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee was also born under Libra Lagna:

Fixed signs i.e. Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius – such persons have fixed nature and are conservative. If the Lagna is afflicted, such natives have been found to be tyrannical or dictatorial in nature. Rajiv Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India was born with Lro Lagna.

Common or dual signs i.e. Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces- such persons have been found to be practical, communicative and adaptable to changing circumstances. Flexible but at times reluctant to take heavy responsibilities and depending on the totality of horoscope, such persons have been found to be highly emotional, sensitive and touchy. Among others mention may be made to the following leaders born under dual lagan signs: Wait for detailed astro analysis of these horoscopes.

What the planet signify in politics and politician's life:

- Political Power – The Sun is exalted in Aries.

Moon - Popularity among masses or people at large.

Mars - Energy and aggressiveness.

Venus - Popularity of the leaders

Jupiter - Wisdom and knowledge, Advisory capacity.

Mercury - Communicative and oratory – speech.

Saturn - Devotion to duty

Rahu - Politics – as such- mixture of all things.

Normally, both the Venus and the Moon and their signs Libra and Cancer should be strong in the horoscope i.e. both by house and planets.

6) Raj Yogas (planetary combinations) in any horoscope become indicative of making the native famous and powerful in social life. Political power is also conferred by such Raj-yogas making planet and the totality of horoscopes must indicate to confer the high ranking status of Minister ship etc. though rise and fall are also indicated- the case of fall of politicians is well known. For example, three or more planets in exaltation or in their own signs can confer kingship. Though a rare combination but five planets in their exaltation signs in a horoscope can make the native a sovereign king.
